ABOUT OUR DOGS

Frederick Alexander the Grape was born in November of 1996 and became part of our faimliy in January of 1997. Robert lost his Annie (another Dachshund) in July of that year and was devastated. He swore he would never have another dog again since it was too painful when they passed on. After we bought our property in Fair Play, Robert moved and was by himself during the week. He was very lonely, so I decided to find him a companion. That's when I found our little Frederick. On a stormy January night we brought Frederick home and he has been the best dog anyone could ask for since. Last year he was bitten by a rattlesnake and we almost lost him. Luckily he pulled through like a trooper and has fully recovered.

Rudolph Valenvino was born sometime in the spring of 1997. For the first few months of his life he belonged to a little girl that wanted a dog but grew tired of caring for him. So he was left alone all day and all night in a garage.

A friend of ours felt sorry for Rudolph and asked us if we would adopt the dog. Of course, we said yes immediately. Rudolph came to us in November of 1997 around Thanksgiving. He hates to be left alone and follows Robert everywhere he goes. Rudolph is the pushy one and will try to get more attention so watch your snacks when he's around. He is relentless when it comes to begging and with those big brown eyes, he always gets what he wants. Frederick and his brother Rudolph are the welcoming committee at our winery and will be greeting you wholeheartedly when you come to visit Fleur de Lys. (Hopefully you don't mind a cold nose on your ankle.)
